Curriculum
Arizona
Childcare Center understands the important role that educational experiences
play in the success of your children as they develop and grow. We offer
a variety of educational programs specially designed to meet the age appropriate
needs of your child, helping to prepare them for the challenges presented
in kindergarten and beyond.
Infants
Warm and loving care is essential for your infant's healthy development.
Our caring and responsive staff will utilize soft toys, colorful books
and music to enrich your baby's environment and to stimulate their natural
curiosity.
Toddlers
Beginning to think and reason through their actions, learn problem-solving
skills and understand language, toddlers thrive on new experience. Providing
a safe, nurturing learning environment allows each child to develop naturally,
as an individual. We offer daily progress reports to inform you on care
routines like eating, napping and diapering as well as the development
of your child.
Twos
By providing a colorful, enriching environment offering a wide variety
of educational toys and materials, we help to spark and develop your two
year olds natural desire to explore and learn about the world around them.
Surrounded by a safe environment filled with self-directed activities,
your child will learn the independence skills that are necessary to prepare
for the transition into preschool. To help expand your child's language
skill and thought expression, we use activities such as reading books
aloud, nursery rhymes and song to teach your child while allowing them
to have fun.
Preschool
Choosing the right preschool is a significant and exciting decision for
a parent to make. When choosing the Arizona Child Center, you can feel
certain that you have chosen a preschool dedicated to the value of learning
and the significance of fun. By encouraging your child's individual development,
our preschool will use an age appropriate manner to teach your child without
your child growing up too fast. We offer an atmosphere where your child
can learn to make friends and share the fun of learning with other children.
You can feel confident that your child will be cared for by teachers that
will keep them safe, loved and nurtured based on their individual personality
and unique learning abilities.
Learning Centers
A preschool classroom in itself is an invaluable teaching tool. Our classroom
space has been carefully designed to delight, intrigue and stimulate the
mind of a young learner. Arizona Child Center classrooms are divided into
specific Learning Center areas such as Language and Circle Time, Blocks
and Creativity and Art. Our Learning Center will invite your child to
discover and marvel at the wonders of the world around him Your child
will be learning and developing important life skills no matter which
area captures their interest on a particular day, Here are some key examples
of our Learning Centers:
Art
Your child will experience art through the creative freedom of touching,
feeling, pulling, twisting, tearing, pasting, bending, scraping, cutting,
pounding, shaping, and working with a variety of art media. By allowing
your child the freedom to explore creativity through art, they will be
developing a feel for forms, balance, line, color, and shape as well as
learning valuable problem solving skills. In the art learning center,
your child will be learning about various relationships, developing observation
skills, and learning the process and skills of logical thinking. Another
very important part of using art as a learning tool is helping your child
to develop and refine their motor skills through hands on experience.
Circle Time
Your child will start their day in circle time, which allows them to learn
to share meaningful experience such as storytelling, singing songs, show
and tell and matching games. By learning to express their ideas through
written word as well as the spoken word, they will learn to develop social
skills, learn to express themselves in a variety of ways, and sharpen
their own ideas and opinions as an individual.
Blocks
This area will teach your child hand-to-eye coordination, help them to
develop and build upon their motor skills involving hand, wrist and finger
control, and also allow them to explore their problem solving skills through
a trial and error process. Stacking and counting the blocks helps them
learn measurement, size, weight and number concepts in a fun and challenging
way.
Music
Children will have the opportunity to use their entire bodies for learning
and exploring in the music circle. Music helps your child to build awareness
by listening and learning to recognizing many kinds of sounds, and also
will help children to experience the release and freedom that body movement
can offer. We will encourage your child to test and experiment with their
vocal and kinesthetic abilities, allowing them to have fun while learning
the enjoyment of participation.
Dramatic Play
Dramatic play will let your child use dress-up clothing, props and child-sized
furniture that we offer to invite children to play make believe, stimulating
their creativity and social skills. In these sessions, your child will
try new careers, learn sharing skills, make friends and express themselves
in a variety of different emotions. Dramatic play sessions will also teach
your child valuable life skills like turning knobs, pressing buttons,
using switches and buttoning and zipping clothing.
Science
We use hands-on, real-life activities to teach your child the basic principals
of science. Our goal is to encourage a sense of discovery in your child,
making them want to learn more about the world around them. Science activities
include playing with living things, using magnets, magnifiers, sand and
water tables.
Math
Math will teach your child sorting and counting skills and how to put
materials in order as well as patterning. Math is a critical skill to
help your child learn higher-level problem solving and how to deduce situations.
Your child will begin to learn basic concepts such as big/little, large/small,
same and different.
Your child will move from center to center throughout their day while
his or her preschool teacher will act as a guide listening to their ideas,
applauding progress and motivating your child to envision and think in
new ways.
